Apple Pudding

This old fashioned apple pudding combines shredded apples, warm spices, and a simple batter for a soft baked dessert often served warm with ice cream. Recipes like this were common during the Depression era and wartime years, when home cooks made comforting desserts from basic pantry ingredients and whatever apples were on hand.

1/2 cup dark sugar

1/2 cup shredded apple including peeling
1 c flour
nutmeg
