This one comes with a little family history written right on the page. Katie was my great-grandmother, and a note at the bottom identifies this as “Katie’s recipe from her daughter-in-law in Ohio.” Strawberry Jell-O, crushed pineapple, cream cheese and Cool Whip make it one of those sweet, fluffy dessert salads that turned up on family tables for generations. Best of all, someone thought to write down where this one came from, leaving us one more little clue about the recipes shared through the family.
8 oz cream cheese
½ c sugar — cream together
lg pkg of strawberry jello
¾ c. water
lg can crushed pineapple drained
lg pkg cool whip
Prepare jello & let cool
Mix cool whip with cream cheese & sugar then pineapple.
Then mix with jello.
