Some recipes come with a little experience written right into them. This handwritten Krumkaker recipe calls for eggs, cream, butter and cardamom, cooked the traditional way on the stovetop in a krumkake iron. Best of all is the note added at the bottom explaining why the original cup of butter was cut in half: “the grease runs out on the stove.”
4 eggs, beaten
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. melted butter
1/2 c. whipping cream
pinch of salt
Cardemon
2 1/2 c. flour
Bake in iron on
top of stove.
Use 1 small tsp. to each iron.
It calls for 1 c. butter, but the grease runs out on the stove.
